FAQs
How does the clip-on design work on the Shokz OpenDots Air Purple?
The OpenDots Air uses a flexible nickel-titanium JointArc frame wrapped in skin-soft silicone that gently clips onto your outer ear cartilage. Weighing just 6.3g per earbud, it keeps your ear canal completely unblocked for pressure-free, all-day wear while leaving you fully aware of surrounding sounds.
Do I need to worry about sound leakage with open-ear clip earbuds?
No, the earbuds utilize Shokz DirectPitch technology along with acoustic Bassphere optimization. This directs precise audio waves straight into your ear canal while producing inverted phase-canceling waves to minimize outward sound projection and preserve your privacy.
Are the Shokz OpenDots Air Purple earbuds sweat and water resistant?
Yes, the earbuds feature an IP55 rating for water and dust resistance, making them protected against sweat, dust, and rain during intense gym workouts or outdoor commutes. The charging case itself is non-waterproof and should be kept dry.
Does the Shokz OpenDots Air support Bluetooth Multipoint pairing?
Yes, equipped with Bluetooth 6.1, the OpenDots Air supports Multipoint Pairing. This allows you to connect the earbuds to two devices simultaneously—such as a laptop and smartphone—and seamlessly switch between media and calls without re-pairing.
How long does the battery last and does it support fast charging?
The earbuds deliver up to 9 hours of continuous playback on a single charge, with the charging case extending total battery life to 36 hours. A quick 10-minute USB-C charge provides up to 2 additional hours of battery life.
