Joy-Con 2 controllers now magnetically attach, include improved sticks and a new “C” GameChat button, and the console features enhanced GameChat voice/video chat, dual USB‑C ports, an Ethernet-capable dock, and refined cooling.

Nvidia-Powered Hardware with DLSS & Ray Tracing

Inside is a custom Nvidia Tegra T239 (“Drake”) chip—an octa-core ARM Cortex‑A78C CPU plus an Ampere GPU with around 1,536 CUDA cores—paired with 12 GB LPDDR5X RAM and fast UFS storage. These components support DLSS upscaling, ray tracing, and variable refresh rate via G‑Sync, making for substantial graphical and performance gains over the original Switch.

Joy‑Con 2 Controllers with Mouse Mode & GameChat C Button

The redesigned Joy-Con 2 snap on magnetically and offer larger sticks, improved SL/SR buttons, refined haptic feedback (HD Rumble 2), and a dedicated “C” button that launches GameChat. They can also function as mouse controllers in supported games, enabling novel gameplay mechanics like precision pointer interaction.

Built‑in GameChat with Voice/Video Sharing

GameChat allows voice and optional webcam-based video chat with friends while gaming—even across different titles. It uses a built-in mic with noise cancellation and supports screen sharing, and Nintendo sells a compatible USB‑C camera accessory for video. This feature will become part of Nintendo Switch Online in 2026.

Expanded Storage & Modern Connectivity

With 256 GB of internal UFS storage and support for up to 2 TB microSD Express cards, the Switch 2 accommodates much larger game libraries. It also includes Wi‑Fi 6, Bluetooth, NFC with amiibo, dual USB‑C ports, a dock with Ethernet and active cooling, and 3.5 mm audio output for headset support
