Own the moment

The DJI Osmo Nano is a highly compact, modular action camera designed for wearable, hands-free shooting. It consists of a tiny camera unit (weighing just 52g) that can be used on its own or magnetically attached to a Multifunctional Vision Dock, which features a 1.96-inch OLED touchscreen for live viewing and control. The camera boasts a 1/1.3-inch sensor, enabling it to capture high-quality video in 4K at up to 60fps, and slow-motion at 4K/120fps. It also supports professional features like 10-bit color and D-Log M profiles for greater flexibility in post-production.

The camera’s design is centered on versatility, with a magnetic mounting system that allows it to be clipped to a hat, worn as a pendant, or attached to various surfaces. The camera unit itself is waterproof to a depth of 10 meters, while the dock provides IPX4 splash resistance. For stabilization, the Osmo Nano uses DJI’s RockSteady 3.0 and HorizonBalancing technology. It comes with built-in storage (either 64GB or 128GB) and a long-lasting battery that, when paired with the Vision Dock, can provide up to 200 minutes of recording time.

Key Features

High-Resolution Imaging

The DJI Osmo Nano is equipped with a powerful 1/1.3-inch sensor capable of capturing stunningly detailed footage. It can record video in 4K resolution at up to 60 frames per second, ensuring smooth, cinematic-quality video. For dramatic slow-motion effects, the camera can also shoot at 4K/120fps. Furthermore, it supports 10-bit color and D-Log M profiles, giving creators immense flexibility during color grading and post-production to achieve a professional look.

Modular and Wearable Design

The camera’s defining feature is its highly compact and modular design. The camera unit is exceptionally small and lightweight, weighing only 52 grams, and can be used independently of the Vision Dock. It utilizes a magnetic mounting system, allowing it to be easily clipped onto hats, attached to clothing, or mounted on various surfaces. This design makes it an ideal tool for hands-free and first-person-view (FPV) shooting, enabling creative perspectives that are difficult to achieve with traditional cameras.

Built-in Stabilization

To ensure smooth and stable footage, the DJI Osmo Nano incorporates advanced stabilization technology. It leverages DJI’s proprietary RockSteady 3.0 stabilization, which effectively minimizes camera shake and vibrations, even during fast-paced action. Additionally, it features HorizonBalancing, which automatically corrects for minor tilts, keeping the horizon level and the footage steady. This combination of technologies allows users to capture professional-looking footage without the need for a separate gimbal.

Dual-Screen Configuration

The DJI Osmo Nano provides a versatile user experience through its dual-screen setup. The camera unit itself can be used on its own, but it can also be magnetically attached to the Multifunctional Vision Dock, which features a 1.96-inch OLED touchscreen. This dock serves as a live viewfinder and a control hub, allowing users to frame their shots, adjust settings, and review footage on a larger, convenient screen. This design offers the best of both worlds: a minimalist, wearable camera and a full-featured camera with a live viewing screen.

Durability and Storage

Built for adventure, the DJI Osmo Nano is designed to be tough and reliable. The camera unit is waterproof up to a depth of 10 meters, making it suitable for underwater use without an additional case. The Vision Dock, while not fully waterproof, offers IPX4 splash resistance. The camera comes with either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, eliminating the need for a separate microSD card and providing ample space for recording high-resolution video. This combination of ruggedness and built-in storage makes the Osmo Nano a convenient and durable companion for any activity.

FAQs

Is the DJI Osmo Nano fully waterproof?

The DJI Osmo Nano’s camera module is waterproof on its own and can be submerged to a depth of 10 meters (33 feet) without a protective case. However, the Multifunctional Vision Dock, which houses the touchscreen and other electronics, is only IPX4 splash-resistant. This means it can withstand rain and splashes but should not be taken underwater. For underwater shooting, the camera must be detached from the dock.

How long does the battery last?

The camera’s battery life is a key consideration. On its own, the Osmo Nano camera can record for up to 90 minutes at 1080p/24fps. When magnetically attached to the Vision Dock, which contains an additional battery, the combined runtime is extended to a maximum of 200 minutes under the same conditions. Keep in mind that recording at higher resolutions and frame rates, such as 4K/60fps, will significantly reduce the battery life.

Can I use an external microphone with the Osmo Nano?

Yes, the DJI Osmo Nano is compatible with DJI’s wireless microphone systems. It supports direct connection to DJI microphones, which can be a significant advantage for creators who need high-quality audio for vlogging or interviews. This allows for an extremely compact and capable vlogging setup without the need for a separate receiver, as the microphone connects directly to the camera.

How does the Osmo Nano’s stabilization compare to other cameras?

The Osmo Nano features DJI’s proprietary RockSteady 3.0 and HorizonBalancing stabilization technologies. RockSteady 3.0 effectively smooths out camera shake and vibrations, while HorizonBalancing keeps the horizon level, even when the camera is tilted. This combination allows the Osmo Nano to produce very stable and professional-looking footage, making it highly competitive with other action cameras on the market that use similar electronic stabilization methods.
