Weighing just 28 grams in a sleek, lightweight plastic chassis available in black, the DVT1120 includes a built-in microphone with wind noise reduction for reliable performance in various environments, making it an ideal, budget-conscious tool for professionals, students, and journalists seeking reliable voice capture without complexity.

Key Features

One-Touch Instant Recording

A single large button lets you start recording instantly by simply pressing and sliding it forward—no menus or mode switching required. Even in a pocket or bag, you can capture lectures, interviews, or sudden ideas without missing the first few seconds.

8 GB Built-in Memory with Long Recording Times

The internal 8 GB flash storage holds up to 44 hours of high-quality mono audio (WAV) or far longer in lower-quality settings. Files are organized automatically in four folders (A–D), each supporting up to 99 recordings for easy sorting.

Automatic Time-Stamped Files

Every recording is saved with the exact date and time embedded in the filename (e.g., “20251204_1430.wav”), making it effortless to locate specific notes weeks or months later without renaming anything manually.

Plug-and-Play USB Connection

The built-in USB 2.0 connector slides out from the top, letting you plug the recorder directly into any PC or Mac as a removable drive. No drivers or extra software are needed—files transfer in seconds and the device even charges via USB.

Extra-Long Battery Life with AAA Batteries

Powered by two standard AAA batteries, it delivers up to 44 hours of continuous recording on alkaline cells or even longer with rechargeables. Because it uses widely available batteries instead of a proprietary pack, you’re never stuck without power on long trips.

FAQs

Can you expand the storage with a microSD card?

No. The 8 GB internal memory is fixed and there is no microSD slot. However, 44 hours in HQ mode (or up to 132 hours in LP) is enough for most students and professionals, and files transfer quickly via the built-in USB stick.

Is the microphone good enough for lectures in a large hall?

For small to medium rooms (up to 15–20 people) and when placed within 3–4 meters of the speaker, recordings are perfectly clear. In very large auditoriums or noisy environments, an external lavalier microphone (3.5 mm plug) dramatically improves quality—many users buy a cheap clip-on mic for under $10 and report excellent results.

Will it work with my Mac without installing anything?

Yes. It appears as a regular USB flash drive on macOS (including Sonoma and Sequoia). Just drag and drop the files—no drivers or extra software required.
